    Green Marine is a brand new company looking to carve out a niche in an already crowded marketplace. Their point of differentiation? They only offer environmentally friendly marine products that are RoHS and WEEE Compliant, with energy efficient power supplies. Green Marine worked together with Uncomn Creative to form a brand that was not only smart, memorable, and high-tech in the marine marketplace, but also stood out from the sea of recent "green" brands.

    Brand development
    Analysis of the competition yielded a range of companies sizes, styles and product offerings. Green Marine's brand would have to convey green technology, with no sacrifice in price or quality. And so, we were off to create a logo to embody these qualities.

    Initial ideas
    Challenge: Combine symbols for green/nature/environment with marine/water/ocean/sailing.

     

    It was a real challenge to use the negative space in the "e's" to form a leaf. I love the facing "e's" that subtly form a sprout.

    After some back and forth and revisions we decided the droplet/leaf/sailboat mark was the strongest and the n/m combination was smart and memorable.

    Website development
    The website design would have to convey that using green technology is Simple, Clean, and High-Tech. Establishing Green Marine's brand as a major competitor in the LED monitor market was going to take style, consistency, and sophistication. Also, their main point of differentiation, green-only products, would have to be woven through every page.

    The design is clean, simple, and easy to navigate. The color palette adheres strongly to the brand colors. We included, on the home page, a flash-animated branding message about green technology.
